for everyone
Decided to try out macro photography after seeing a concept called "cradle." So, with a borrowed lens, I went around our garden, only to find a new world of living things.

thanks a lot guys. I really found a new world when I did this. And I did it for three mornings. Always trying to find something new or going back to something i still wanted to see from another perspective. I guess that's the beauty of photography - looking at the details and finding that there is a lot more beauty in things we didn't bother to look at or even know were there. It was then that I realized that the pesky ant, fly and spider can be beautiful - the metallic color of the ant, the kaleidoscope of colors of the fly and the earthy, hairy brown of the spider. And the amazing beauty of the weed's flowers. Now, I learned that I missed out on a lot of things when I disregarded the little things around me. Just the way that we look away when we see beggars in the streets, or the streetchildren with upraised palm. They, too, are children of the earth and of God, equal to us in His eyes although not in ours maybe.

Amen... I simply look at the pictures above and i felt something that i can't explain. I came up with stories in my mind by just merely looking at them. Great shots can make me feel that way. Like those pics here in this set.

ang GANDA!!!! inspired akong lumabas sa mini-hardin namin! kahit digicam lang gamit ko (buti may macro function)... another way of showing the world what God has offered us from the beginning. Good one sir!

i love this shot po!
anong lens po gamit nyo? =)
junmark wrote on Feb 14, '07
thanks 6ladys. am so happy that i was able to do what a good photographer or any artist would like to achieve - enable the viewers build stories in their minds because that meant that they felt what they were seeing. super thanks.

it's a Nikon 105mm macro lens i borrowed from my son.
junmark wrote on Feb 15, '07
thanks David. I like your photos too. maybe i should also try my sigma 70-300 lens on macro mode. i've only been using this for sports and nature, not really macro.
rongest wrote on Feb 15, '07
may i ask what's a good lens to capture action? thanks.
junmark wrote on Feb 15, '07
i have been using my sigma. although it's a bit slow, but i've been able to get good action shots. i've tried it with racing cars with difficulty even with panning. i guess it depends on what kind of action you are interested in.

for example kahit children and pets playing lang... or even walking people...

ive always liked the 50mm f1.4 lens but a f1.8 would be okay. It's good for portraits. Unless you're more into natural or available light, the f1.8 should be enough.
